Brutal Hearts

Are you the brutal heart?
Are you the brutal heart that I've been looking for?
'Cause if you're looking for love, you can look for that door.

Forever And A Day

Best friend J and I ditched the gym for something more substantial a.k.a. shopping, eating, drinking, and in the middle of it all, catching Sam Milby and KC Concepcion's movie, FOREVER AND A DAY, which was a total winner in my book!

It may have been a tragic remake of A Walk To Remember (obviously) but nonetheless, I liked the story...mostly because I'm a fan of its American predecessor :)) Also, in my opinion, I feel that the movie would have been more effective had John Lloyd and Bea been cast as Eugene and Raffy. But that's just me. For now, a gaggle of cheesy lines to cap off the night!

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina for Star Cinema's 18th anniv
"Thank you for yesterday, thank you for today, and if I forget...thank you for tomorrow."
"Natatakot ako na kapag hindi pa ako umalis ngayon, mamahalin na kita."
"It took me a day to fall in love...and it will take me forever to say goodbye."
"Kaya mo bang mahalin ang isang taong alam mong mawawala rin sa'yo?"
"I want to you stop counting sunsets and look forward to more sun rises!"
"Naalala mo nung tinanong mo sa akin kung kaya kong mahalin ang isang taong mawawala
sa'kin? My answer is 'no.' Dahil hindi ako papayag na mawala ka sa'kin."
"To love is to let go."

P.S.
I'm baduy that way! LOL

Hot off the press!

So my FIRST ever fitness article has already come out!! I'm excited because I've never really been the type to write about fitness, yet here I am with a published article on the topic :p Plus, I super love our sister magazine Maven, so being published in their second issue is pretty cool :)

Yes, loser-ish of me to encircle the cover blurb, but let me have my moment :))
While you're at it, don't forget to grab your copy of Metro Magazine!! July is our beauty issue so prepare yourselves because this issue is packed with great beauty stories and of course beauty finds! :)

P.S.
The Maven cover is bigger because of a. the cover blurb, b. Metro's original size is larger than Maven's so it goes past the designated area for text LOL (I'm OC that way haha!)

Centennial celebrations and Red Horse

Yesterday was a reunion of sorts. For one, a handful of my blockmates and I trudged down to La Salle despite the random spitting of rain and wave after wave after wave of people entering and exiting the trains to Taft. It was good seeing old places and seeing the campus after a year, it was like flashing back to college sans the familiar faces and the campus' comfortable feel. But nonetheless, it felt good to be back :)

So like the alumni that we are, we ditched the campus and headed over to Sherwood for dinner and drinks where we all did a little catching up. It was nice to see the GGs together in one place and it was nice to hear that the tides are changing as well (aka a certain someone now commutes and hitches a ride home ;)). A few of us also got to talking about certain life aspects that were never really discussed in other reunions.

And that was DLSU's 100 years for me. I may have not seen Taken By Cars perform or even the pyro musical show, but it's just such a great feeling to be around good company-anytime of the day, anytime of the week.

BELLA!

Gorgeous gorgeous gooooooorgeous!! This cover is absolutely divine and genius! I mean talk about Vogue Italia throwing a major curve ball in fashion's face. Featuring plus size models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley on the cover shot by Steven Meisel, this issue (June 2011) highlights the beauty of women who have a little somethin' somethin' and junk in the trunk.

EIC Franca Sozzani has also launched the website Vogue Curvy, where curvy icons like Kim K are praised and where women who are not a size zero can get their fashion fill and styling tips.

This magazine cover just proves to us that beauty definitely goes past the Natasha Poly-s and the Carmen Kass-es of the world :)

Belle Vere translates as True Beauty. This cover is that and more. Absolutely beautiful!

Legend

In the process of helping my sister out with her TREDFOR assignment which was to find a wedding song (funny how the timing works so well), I found MY ultimate wedding song. An old time favorite of mine from none other than John Legend

There is just something so sexy about this guy live. I wish I could afford to get this guy to sing on my wedding day...or better yet, get him right next to me in front of the altar hahaha. Although, I feel it's just more fun to keep him in the fantasies LOL! :p

Wedding belle

I have always had a fascination for weddings. For some weird reason, I love the idea of planning for months on end, finding the perfect dress, venue, cake, flowers, and what have you. Maybe I'm secretly a romantic at heart or a sucker for elegant events, but whatever it may be, I just absolutely LOVE weddings. Last Sunday, I found out that apparently, it runs in the family. So after my conversation with mom on what the perfect and worst ideas for a wedding are, my dreams of becoming a wedding planner have once again been revived.

It's like that time I bought the book I Do (But I Don't) By Cara Lockwood. I have never really been interested in the lives of wedding planners until I read the book. Despite the hectic schedules and planning, at the end of the day, as a planner, you've created that perfect day all brides and well, women dream of since they were kids. Also, I attended like two wedding planning seminars with Rita Neri back in High School because I was genuinely interested. But because the dream didn't seem feasible, I just let it go (boohoo).

I Do (But I Don't). The book that stuck with me since 1st year HS!
But now that I'm at that point in my life where I'm trying to figure out where I fit in this world, I want to try and revisit that dream. So I'm whipping out the book, and although that isn't the main point of the story (which is a whole other entry), I think it would definitely help me realize that High School dream once more.

I don't know how the hell I'll be able to do this. But I think if I put enough effort into it, I think I could come up with something good...and eventually be someone great and relevant.

Freeze frame on me

I had possibly the worst job interview of my life yesterday. But for some weird reason, I did not feel bad at all. Despite the gleaming pay, benefits and job description of the supposed job, I did not really feel bad for bombing the interview. Although it was major major embarrassing on my part, it just made things a hell of a lot clearer for me.

So yes, I am signing. Maybe this is God's way of telling me to stick with whatever it is I'm doing...for the meantime, and eventually the good things will come after. In conclusion, the lessons learned for the first part of this week include patience and learning to stick out something I say I want (or rather know I want).

The next six months could play out in two ways: That the next months would be hectic and short or that it could be hectic and hella long. Either way, I guess I'm excited to see where all this "soul searching" will lead me to. After all, we're living young and wild and free right?

Hey June!

Time flies by soooooo f*cking fast. As I write this, my clock just struck 12 and it's officially Friday, June 3. In 16 days, I will be celebrating my first year of being a college graduate, in one day I will be seeing some of my favorite people in the world after a month or more, it's been four months since I hit the gym, it has officially been two weeks, and in three days, I will hopefully be entering into a whole new venture.

Looking back at my eight blog entries in May as opposed to the 21 I had the month before, I almost feel as if I let my May waste away without any really interesting events. Although there was a lot to learn from May, I feel it could have included a lot more activity. But despite the passing of sedentary May, I feel like now, I have much more energy to do new things which will hopefully make my June a hella lot more interesting than last.

It's been a long day and I'm sure it's going to be another long day tomorrow. But hey! Let's keep our heads up. It's going to be an interesting month and let's welcome June with open arms, shall we?
