22 :)

It's really funny how I spent my entire birthday without even the slightest whiff of alcohol in the air around me. I guess when you turn 22, there are some things about you that change whether or not you wanted them to or expected them to. But I believe that whatever happens, happens for a reason and for that, I am truly grateful.

My 21st year has been the ultimate roller coaster ride in my book. Other than marking my first year in the "dream" industry, it has also marked a lot of firsts on the personal front as well. But despite the crazy decisions I've made, my 21st was truly a memorable one and I'm pretty sad I'm leaving it all behind.

But even if I'm a year older now, celebrating my 22nd just means a whole new year of firsts...hopefully firsts that will make this year so much more memorable than last year. And with that, I can't wait to get this new year started :)

I'd also like to thank all the people who remembered my birthday and took the time out to call, text, tweet, message or write on my wall-you guys are truly truly awesome, and the greetings didn't fail to make me smile (F'REALZ).

So here's to more firsts, memories and to rocking 22! Let's rock and roll and make this year UNKABOGABLE! ♥

Birthday month

Unintentional and totally not on my to do list, today, I decided to go for a "new" look. Two years prior to getting my bangs chopped, I once found myself in a salon asking the hair stylist to give me full bangs. I was a bit hesitant to get them cut the same way again considering my face looked so fat way back when, but I must say that I am abso-freakin-lutely LOVING my hair this time around!

I really don't know if it's the cut, the color or the fact that I can now see my cheek bones (LOL), but I'm glad I got my hair done, and I'm glad I'm (sorta) kick starting the birthday month on a good and NEW note :)

Hello October! And hello birthday month!

Despite my busy schedule, I still managed to find the time to pick up a book (or three) to read in between pulling out and writing my stories. Up until two weeks ago, I have started reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which is sort of reminiscent of Battle Royale but with more dramatic deaths and a flair for romance (of sorts). I must admit, Young Adult literature is no longer my cup of tea but this book seemed pretty interesting enough to pour over, plus the fact that there's a movie version coming out real soon gave me enough reason to read the trilogy.

The Hunger Games Trilogy

Much to my surprise, I enjoyed the books so much that I finished them in (collectively, sans the waiting time to borrow the books) about a week's time, which is surprising given my schedule. I'm currently reading the last installment of the trilogy, Mockingjay, and I must say that it's definitely a let down following The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. The first two books were riveting enough to keep me wanting more, but I'm only halfway through the the third and I'm already bored...unfortunately. But despite the pretty lousy end to a "could've been totally awesome" trilogy, the book did maintain its (blurb's) promise of keeping the readers interested. 

Nonetheless, I am determined to finish this book and am still looking for the movie. So while surfing the net, I decided to do a little more research on the cast of the movie version and found out that Liam Hemsworth plays the part of Gale Hawthorne and I could not have picked a more suitable actor for the part. Plus how fine does Liam look with dark hair?? It's the perfect fit.

I guess being devoid of Miley Cyrus does have its benefits!

I couldn't care less for the characters of Katniss Everdeen (main character) and Peeta Mellark (you gotta read the synopsis to know who these people are, really) because I hate them both...in the book that is. Katniss' character just seemed too full of issues-much like a Bella Swan, but less fragile. And Peeta, well he's just not manly enough for me. Read the book and see who's team (Gale vs Peeta) you'd want to be on.
